Next Generation of Afloat Command and Control Sensor Suites

To secure the 95,000 nautical miles of U.S. coastline, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) deployed a next-generation patrol boat, the Fast Response Cutter (FRC), capable of independently conducting missions such as port, waterway and coastal security, fishery patrol, drug and illegal migrant law enforcement, and search and rescue. The FRC required a fully interoperable C4ISR system to successfully and independently operate missions to save lives, enforce maritime law and protect national security.

To meet the FRC’s C4ISR system requirements, Sotera was part of a team of engineers that designed, prototyped and tested a next-generation shipboard command and control system, Seawatch. The USCG deploys Seawatch as the C4ISR suite for afloat USCG platforms. Seawatch provides a fully interoperate C4ISR system that interfaces with and integrates navigation sensors, radars, tactical communications and surveillance systems allowing the USCG to enhance response time and support their mission of protecting U.S. citizens, assets and interests.
