Sotera is committed to working with and improving the communities of which we are an established and integral part. Our company's operations are where socially responsible practices start and enhancing the environmental aspect of our solutions are key components of our corporate philosophy.
Commitment to the Environment
Many of the expeditionary systems designed and integrated by Sotera use innovative methods to minimize any impact on the environment. For example, our tactical water reuse system is able to reclaim and recycle up to 80%, or 10,000 gallons per day, of previously used shower water. Through the processes of reverse osmosis and microfiltration the system restores the used water to potable quality. The U.S. Army deploys this system among troops serving in arid climates, such as Iraq and Afghanistan where preservation serves a vital role in limiting vulnerability by reducing the amount of water a military unit must transport in hazardous zones, while minimizing any impact to the local environment and sustaining U.S. troops.

Sotera is committed to fostering the development and achievements of those within our community. We play a strong and active role participating with organizations that are dedicated to improving the local community. For example, Sotera is a member of the Washington D.C. chapter of a non-profit group dedicated to promoting women within the technology industry. We’re also members of the Professional Services Council (PSC), a U.S. national trade association of the government professional and technical services industry. We maintain an executive role on the PSC board and participate in their Communications Committee. Sotera also partners with a local high school, providing sponsors and mentors for various school activities, as well college scholarships.
