2011

GTEC acquired by Ares Management and becomes Sotera Defense Solutions, Inc. (Sotera)

On September 22, Sotera completed its acquisition of Software Process Technologies, LLC, http://www.spt-inc.com

On December 30, Sotera completed its acquisition of Potomac Fusion, Inc., http://www.potomacfusion.com

2010

Global Defense Technology & Systems, Inc. wins Deal of the Year (< $100 million) award at the Association for Corporate Growth, National Capital Chapter awards.

On October 1, GTEC completed its acquisition of Zytel Corporation, a provider of cyber intelligence and cyber warfare solutions for the national security community.

On December 20, GTEC completed its acquisition of Signature Government Solutions, LLC expanding our footprint within the U.S. Intelligence Community and our capabilities in information systems architecture, cyber security and network engineering.

2009

The holding company of Global Strategies Group (North America) Inc., Global Defense Technology & Systems, Inc. (GTEC) announces an initial public offering of its common stock (IPO) on The Nasdaq Global Market. The former parent company, Global Strategies Group, continues to be a significant shareholder.

2008

SFA, Inc. changes its name to Global Strategies Group (North America) Inc.

2007

SFA, Inc. is acquired by Global Strategies Group, an integrated security company operating in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

2003

SFA, Inc. acquires the Analysis Corporation (TAC) a designer and integrator of technologies and analysis services for intelligence-related national security missions, with extensive experience supporting counterterrorism missions for the U.S. Intelligence Community and federal law enforcement agencies.

1988

SFA, Inc. acquires Frederick Manufacturing. Today this is the Engineered Solutions business of Sotera and supports the most pressing force mobility, modernization and survivability requirements for U.S. troops operating worldwide.

1969

Sachs Freeman Associates, Inc., subsequently known as SFA, Inc., is founded as a leading provider of technology services to the U.S. federal government.
